Frequently asked questions.
What kind of items do you consign?
We focus on apparel and equipment for outdoor activities such as climbing, hiking, mountain biking, skiing, and snowboarding. Pretty much any human powered outdoor activity that comes to mind.
What does it mean when you say you “consign” things?
WE sell gear and apparel that is still owned by the original owner, when the item sells we give them a portion of the sale and the rest goes to the shop. We’re like an in person Facebook Marketplace if you will, without the ghosting ya know?
Learn about what it means to consign with us here!
Are you a thrift store?
in short, no. Everything in the shop is either consignment or new items that we’ve purchased to sell retail (power bars, carabiners, etc). WE do not take donations like a standard thrift store. The only items we take for donation are items that customers bring in to donate to our consign for a cause program. More info about that here.
What condition would you like the gear to arrive in?
As good as you can get it! Freshly cleaned and laundered with little to no stains, zippers in good working order, no missing buttons or broken buckles. If you’re bringing items that have been in storage please check them for mouse droppings, blow off the dust, and wipe off the spider webs please.
I have a large item or a lot of stuff that I don’t know if you want, how can I check before I make a trip?
If you find yourself with larger items that take more time and effort to haul or a lot of stuff please feel free to send us an email at heyo@evergreengearexchange.com with plenty of photos and as much info as you have on said items so we can look it over and give you a better idea if it’s something worth bringing down or not!
How do I know when my item has sold?
When you bring gear in to consign with us we will take down your email for you consignor account. When we have entered your items you will receive an email that give you an itemized list of everything we took. You can also access your consignor portal from our website at any time, the button is up at the top right corner of this site, or follow this link. On your consignor portal you can view your active items and also see your current balance.
Do you price items with consignors when they drop off?
We will not price items individually upon drop off. If you have an idea on a price you’d like a certain item to be at please let the shop associate know and we’ll make a note of it. We do our own research into each item individually and price based on current condition and similar items we’ve found priced online that have sold. If you ever have any questions or concerns about a price of an item you dropped off please feel free to reach out at heyo@evergreengearexchange.com.
How do I collect my account balance after my stuff sold?
If you have a balance on your account with us you can do a number of things with it.
You can use it on your next in store purchase as store credit (if you choose this option you also get another 10% on top of your balance, yay extra money!)
You can get a check when you come in the shop. We can print you a check on the spot during your next visit.
Cash. WE ask you give at least 24 hours notice for this option so that we can make sure we have enough.
Direct Deposit. We partner with a company called Checkbook.io and they handle all our account direct deposits so they can be taken care of securely. If you pick this option we will initiate the payout, then you receive a separate email from Checkbook prompting you to enter your account info so they can process the transaction. It usually takes 3 business days or so to go through.
We can also provide a payout through venmo as well.
You cannot initiate a payout through the consignor portal at this time. We do ask that you contact us directly by phone or email and let us know if you are looking for a payout and which option you’re looking to do, then we can get you squared away.
